Postdoctoral position on “Thalamic activity in parkinsonian models”
The Laboratory for Biomedical Neurosciences (LBN) of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland conducts translational research on neurodegenerative brain diseases with emphasis on movement disorders. The LBN is located at the Swiss Institute for Regenerative Medicine (SIRM) in Torricella-Taverne, Switzerland.
A funded 18 months postdoctoral position is available from January 2017, with the possibility of further extension, in a research group where basal ganglia function are studied in different models of Parkinson’s disease. We combine electrophysiological, molecular biological and behavioral approaches to understand how basal ganglia activity is modified by dopamine depletion.
For this postdoc position we are looking for a highly motivated scientist with a PhD degree who has a strong background in in vivo and in vitro electrophysiology. Good comunication, excellent team spirit and fluency in italian and english are further appreciated skills.
The appointment is for 18 months. The salary is in accordance with the standard of the Swiss National Science Foundation. The attendant will be provided access to state-of-the-art research facilities in a young dynamic team.
Starting date: January 1st 2017.
