At the LBN, research is based on a comprehensive platform including electrophysiology, behavioral analysis, histology, flow cytofluorometry, confocal microscopy, and modern techniques in cellular and molecular biology. These techniques allow us to analyze cellular and animal models of disease. Understanding the pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease and the search of novel therapeutics based on counteracting aberrant protein levels by targeting protein modification, misfolding and toxicity, are our everyday life.
